As one of Germany’s first Internet Service Providers, CNT presented the first Cloud PBX designed specifically for large enterprises and became a pioneer in Cloud Communications.

CNT was among Germany’s first Internet Service Providers and offered nationwide internet access and multi-site connectivity as early as 1995. Today, the Network Services business area delivers high-performance internet access and enterprise networks across Germany, Europe and worldwide.
Pioneer in Cloud Communications
CNT adopted Voice over IP as early as 2001, before SIP became an established standard. This early pioneering work led to CNT Call Manager, the first true Cloud PBX designed specifically for large enterprises. Today, the platform brings together Cloud PBX and Unified Communications in a technology-leading architecture.

History
1995: The Beginning of Commercial Internet Use
At a time when the commercial use of the internet was still in its infancy, CNT, in collaboration with IBM, provided internet access via leased lines and site networking for business customers across Germany. Just a few months later, CNT took over the support of IBM AS/400 partners in Southern Germany as well as renowned clients like Daimler – a true pioneer in this field.
